Canesis
Canesis

began operations in 1961 and established itself as a world-leading

 |
The company encompasses all the research and development
activities and the intellectual property previously owned
by WRONZ and the operations, intellectual property and
brands of Wool Interiors Limited. |
Canesis has two shareholders - WRONZ with 25.1% and Wool
Equities with 74.9%. WRONZ remains as an incorporated society
with its own membership and Board, and continues to own buildings
and properties, including those at Ilkley in the UK.
The organisation’s main objective is to continue to
maximise the flow of new technologies which can be tailored
to create advantages for business in the wool, textiles, and
related supplier industries worldwide. The company provides
research and product development services in the fields of
protein science, biological ultrastructure and bio-polymer
materials.
Canesis' research specialises in many areas, including:

|
- the manufacture and performance of carpet yarn and
carpets;

and related organisations.
The company also partners companies in innovative ventures
to access preferential research and development services and
establish commercialisation linkages.
The Wool Equities shareholding (74.9%) in Canesis, provides
Wool Equities' wool grower shareholders with a direct stake
in what were previously the operations and intellectual property
of WRONZ and Wool Interiors Limited.
